Pomorie is the oldest spa resort in Bulgaria built an impressive peninsula, north of limiting the largest bay on the Black Sea Bourgas. The city is both a spa and seaside summer resort. Known worldwide for its medicinal liquor, spa treatments. Annually it is visited by over 400,000 tourists from Russia, Slovakia, Macedonia, Poland, Czech Republic and Ukraine. He has the unique and the largest of the Balkan Peninsula salt. The history of this source can be seen in the museum of salt. Pomorie is famous with significant production of cognac, wine and brandy. Excursions are organized to Varna and Veliko Tarnovo. In the old part are small family hotels, and in the south of the new part are new built apart-hotels. Landmarks include Pomorie Thracian Tomb, Monastery St. George Pomorie Lake and the historical museum. Excursions at sea are possible from the marina, and short cruises to Nessebar and Sozopol. Bourgas International Airport is only 12 kilometers. The ancient name of the city in Anhialo founded in the 5th century BC.
